WHAT: A fully hands-on, brains-on, choose-your-own-adventure field trip focused on STEM learning and STEM careers!

WHO: Groups of students ages 10-14 from schools, homeschools, and other learning cohorts

WHERE: Indoors & Outdoors (dress accordingly) at the State College YMCA, 677 W. Whitehall Rd 

WHEN: Register now for your 2-hour adventure between 9am-3pm on Friday, October 2, 2026.

WHY: This STEM Day builds on everything that makes Maker Faire Happy Valley so powerful: creativity, curiosity, experimentation, and community collaboration. During a single visit, students will encounter dozens of interactive booths hosted by makers, educators, nonprofits, businesses, higher education partners, and industry professionals. Each experience offers a glimpse into future careers and possibilities.

FREE for all registered groups to attend. Stipends may be available to cover transportation for groups who need it. Space in each time slot is limited!

STEM Day for Middle Schoolers is part of Maker Faire Happy Valley.

Maker Faire Happy Valley is a two-day celebration of invention, creativity, and hands-on learning. It’s where artists, engineers, tinkerers, scientists, crafters, startups, and curious minds of all kinds come together to show what they’ve made, share how they made it, and inspire a new generation of makers.
