Grant Program

Conducted in partnership with the Centre County Board of Commissioners, the HVAB’s annual tourism grant program provides marketing and other support for nonprofit cultural, educational, historical and recreational assets in order to enhance the visitor experience and increase tourism to Happy Valley, PA, particularly overnight stays. Eligible applicants are limited to non-profit organizations and units of government.

Since 2003-04, the Tourism Grant program has awarded nearly $8.3 million to projects, events, and initiatives that grow and enhance Happy Valley’s tourism product.
The merit-based grants are awarded annually. The HVAB’s and Centre County Commissioners’ administration of the program follows Pennsylvania regulations (Act 18 of 2016).

2024-25 Grant Recipients

The Happy Valley Adventure Bureau (HVAB), along with the Centre County Board of Commissioners, announced the awarding of $960,200 in 2024-25 Tourism Grant funding for events and projects that will enhance the county’s tourism product.

2025 - 26 Tourism Grant Program Timeline

(Open Only to Non-Profit Organizations, Municipalities and Governmental Units)

January 15, 2025- the grant portal will be open to accept grant applications. 
March 3, 2025 - the grant portal will close, and we will no longer be accepting applications after this date.
May 28 - June 13, 2025 - Grant Announcement Event. (Tentative)
