Discover the Palmer’s new special exhibition Washi Transformed: New Expressions in Japanese Paper and explore paper-related plants in the gardens. Begin with a garden walk hosted by Arboretum educator Rebecca Horwitt to learn about plants used in the papermaking process, along with their growth habits, pest challenges, and harvesting methods. Then venture indoors with a museum guide for a deep dive into the expressive and inventive paper sculptures on view in Washi Transformed as well as related works in the permanent collection.
