Jazz in the Attic: Molly Countermine
Molly Countermine has singing since the age of 2, and has been a staple in the State College music scene since moving here in 1998. She began singing with the Phyrst Phamly, a band her father formed in 1967 that played every Saturday night at the Phyrst, but quickly branched out with her sister, Kelly, to form an original band, Babblefish, in 1999.
She joined forces with Ted McCloskey in 2000, was a founding member of Pure Cane Sugar in 2007, and continues to perform weekly with Ted, her husband Rene, and drummer Daryl Branford with Ted and the Hi-Fi’s. Molly is a Senior Instructor of Human Development and Family Studies at Penn State, and she and Rene have 3 children.
