About the The Corner Room

The Penn State tradition since 1926.

1855 - First opened as Jack's Road House restaurant, a stage stop to accommodate travelers to the newly opened Farmers' High School of Pennsylvania.

1885 - State College's first telephone and first telegraph are installed in Hotel State College.

1926 - Hotel comes under new ownership and restaurant is renames The Corner Room.

Over the years - the Corner Room becomes a landmark for locals, students and visitors alike to enjoy a cup of coffee or a meal with friends.
