From Village to Battlefield: Pine Grove Mills in the Civil War Era Join us for an evening exploring Pine Grove Mills during the American Civil War era. This semester, Penn State history student Logan Boshart has been working with the Pine Grove Mills Village Association to uncover the stories of local residents who served in the war, tracing their ties to the village, their wartime experiences, and the communities they returned to afterward. Many who once called Pine Grove Mills home and went off to fight are still here, laid to rest in the Union and Pine Grove Mills cemeteries. Their headstones remain visible today—some clear, some faded—often marked with a flag and a star-shaped veteran marker. Through maps, records, and personal histories, we will begin to piece together a picture of the village as it once was, and the individuals who helped shape it. Please note: this event will be held on our second floor, which is not handicap accessible. This event is free. Please make a reservation using the GET TICKETS button below so we know how many guests to expect.
