Digba Ogunbiyi brings his album release show to Pine Grove Hall on Thursday, May 14, 2026, celebrating the release of his new recording Stay Still. A Nigerian jazz pianist and composer, Digba is known for a strikingly original voice that blends the rhythmic language of Yoruba folk music with jazz and classical traditions. His work explores themes of identity, stillness, and self-expression, delivered through breathtaking technique and deeply expressive composition. A recipient of the Music Society of Nigeria’s Steinway & Sons Piano Proficiency Award, Digba holds a Doctor of Music from the Eastman School of Music, where he also received the Ray Wright Prize for artistry, versatility, and entrepreneurship. His acclaimed debut album Ade’digba helped establish Nigerian artists more firmly on the global jazz stage, and Stay Still marks a deeper, more expansive chapter in that journey. Digba has performed with leading jazz artists, including John Benitez, Anthony Tidd, Steve Lehman, and the Dave Rivello Big Band, and in 2025 opened for the legendary Abdullah Ibrahim at Jazz at Lincoln Center. His festival appearances include the Montclair Jazz Festival, Rochester Jazz Festival, and Lagos Jazz Festival.
