Astral Shakedown is a vintage-inspired jam band that blends soul, rock, and funk into a high-energy live experience built for connection and movement. Led by vocalist Kate Terry, whose warm, earthy voice grounds the band’s sound, Astral Shakedown draws from a wide musical palette—channeling the spirit of Fleetwood Mac, Aretha Franklin, Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, and The Grateful Dead, alongside modern soul influences like Black Pumas and Lake Street Dive. At the heart of the band is a deep, dance-forward groove. Dipak Sahoo’s expressive lead guitar brings fluid improvisation and momentum, while Ed Colby (bass) and Ben Tolton (drums) lock in rhythms that invite you to move. Lorn Ray’s keys add lush layers—from atmospheric textures to soulful organ lines—while Erik Paredes contributes smooth saxophone and percussion. Christine Zoerner’s backing vocals complete the sound with rich harmony and depth.
