Spikes Summer Season is Almost Here!
By Laura Zaks
If a Spikes baseball game during the spring and summer of Happy Valley is not yet on your schedule, be sure to add it now! Once the buds of May are up and coming, Medlar Field at Lubrano Park is up and running with Happy Valley’s favorite minor league baseball team.
This 2019 season will host 38 home games, with the Opening Night matchup set to be against the Williamsport Crosscutters, Saturday, June 15.
For tickets, call the Spikes Ticket Office by phone at (814) 272-1711 or head on over to StateCollegeSpikes.com.
Great baseball games should only be matched with delicious dinners. Why not celebrate a major win with artisanal pizza dishes, crab mac and cheese appetizers or house-made soft pretzels from The Federal Taphouse? Dip into their beers on tap while munching on a smoked beef brisket— can’t get any better than that!
In the mood for Korean? Kimchi Korean Restaurant on North Atherton serves some townie favorites such as the bulgogi— a sliced ribeye in house-made barbecue sauce— and the tofu dolsot— a dish of vegetables and tofu over rice. Whether it’s kimchi dishes, beef short ribs or the renowned spicy fermented cabbage, you can’t go wrong with this specialized Korean cuisine.
Want to combine good food with a “home sweet home” feel? Look no further than the Ramada Hotel & Conference Center State College. With friendly staff who will make you their number one priority, the local Ramada also offers free wifi and on-site parking.
