FRIDAY, May 11
The Machine Performs Pink Floyd
For over 25 years, The Machine has performed Pink Floyd's music around the world, and on May 11, they will be bringing their show to The State Theater. Tickets are $35 if you purchase in advance and $38 the day of the show. They are known for playing songs at the request of their audience, and will play songs from all 16 Pink Floyd albums, making them a literal machine. The show will start at 8:00 p.m.
Penn State baseball vs. Xavier
Penn State baseball has a three-game series with Xavier, May 10–12. Help cheer our boys to victory at Medlar Field this weekend! The series' opening game will be Friday, Mar 10, at 6:30 p.m., and both Friday's and Saturday's games will be held at 6:30 p.m., as well.
SATURDAY, May 12
AAUW Used Book Sale
The 57th annual AAUW Used Book Sale will be from May 12–15, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. each day. Eight thousand book lovers attended last year, and this year’s event is expected to pull an even larger crowd. Join us for half-price books on May 14, and fit as many books as you can in a grocery bag — please provide your own — for only $7.00 on May 15.
Lemont Plant Sale
The Lemont Village Green will be hosting a plant sale from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Featured plants will be provided by Patchwork Farms and local Lemont gardeners and gardens. From hanging baskets, to organic herbs and vegetables, colorful annuals to beautiful perennials, the sale has something perfect for your garden.
Plant Celebration & Garden Sale
As one of the largest events for the Centre County Historical Society, this event has been held annually since 1995, and takes place at the Centre Furnace Mansion. Do your spring garden shopping and support a local nonprofit organization that helps people understand, experience, appreciate and preserve Centre County’s cultural and natural heritage. Rain or shine, the event will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Bald Eagle Bird Day
Join fellow bird lovers at Bald Eagle State Park at 9:00 a.m. to celebrate your passion for birds. The day will be filled with bird-themed events and is free for people of all ages to attend. Be sure to bring your favorite picnic lunch and enjoy all things bird!
SUNDAY, May 13
Pop at the Palmer
Don’t miss your last chance to see pop art from the Palmer Museum of Art. The Pop at the Palmer is one of Palmer's rotating exhibits, so come and experience these works before they are packed away. Admission to the exhibit is free.
State College Area Municipal Band Mother’s Day Concert
Mount Nittany Middle School Auditorium will be hosting the annual Mother’s Day concert at 3:00 p.m. This will be long-time director Ned Deihl's last concert as he moves into retirement, so let's send him off with a full house. Admission to the concert is free.
