Join us for a special evening of jazz reimagining classic tunes with a fresh twist—Jazz on 16 Strings. This performance will showcase the unique synergy of two guitars, double bass, and drums as they explore jazz standards, reinterpreted pop songs, and new original music.

While the guitar is often relegated to a supporting role in traditional jazz ensembles, this performance flips that script. Two guitars take center stage without the typical horn section or piano, backed by the dynamic rhythm section of Ray Najjar on bass and Cade Werner on drums. The result? A thrilling evening of spontaneous creativity and evolving arrangements.

WHAT TO EXPECT: This is no ordinary concert. Imagine stepping into Jerry Bresee's basement as the band experiments, discovers, and refines their sound. Whether it's a classic jazz standard or a modern pop tune, you'll witness the magic as these talented musicians build something new from the ground up. The energy is infectious, the music is fresh, and the vibe is purely fun.

MEET THE MUSICIANS: Ben Hanrahan (guitar): A University of North Texas jazz guitar alum, Ben brings both technical skill and deep creativity to the stage. Jerry Bresee (guitar): From the vibrant Washington, DC jazz scene, Jerry brings his unique voice to the guitar in this collaboration. Ray Najjar (bass): A stalwart of the Centre County music scene for over 30 years, Ray anchors the rhythm section with his seasoned expertise. Cade Werner (drums): A rising star from the Penn State School of Music, Cade brings youthful energy and sharp improvisational instincts to the drums.

Prepare to enjoy an evening of creative exploration, where you’ll hear familiar songs in unexpected ways!
