About the The Crooked House
The Crooked House at Homecoming Park invites visitors to experience historic and out-of-the-ordinary contemporary sculpture in the village of Milesburg, PA, on the ouskirts of Bellefonte. The Crooked House will ultimately be a 23-foot tall, 30-ton free-standing concrete sculpture of the facade of the Abigail Miles home built in 1857, cementing this distinctive leaning house in place for generations to come. Visitors can view the 8-foot prototype sculpture on display and read about the history of this unique endeavor and the artist-in-residence, Benjamin Fehl. Check out the mosaic of handprinted tiles on the rear of the prototype; each tile is a hand or fingerprint of visitors, community members, and supporters who have left their mark on The Crooked House. Visitors are welcome to linger on a shaded bench, enjoy the serenity of Homecoming Park, and contemplate what "home" means to them. Plan your free visit.
