Nittany Valley Creamery

Located at 5565 Jacksonville Road in Howard, PA, the Nittany Valley Creamery serves up farm fresh ice cream and ice cream treats from its charming Dairy Barn store at the end of the long lane that leads to the Glick family farm. The Glicks have owned the farm for years, selling its dairy products wholesale prior to opening the creamery. The family’s herd provides the dairy for the ice cream, which is produced on site. The cows graze on non-GMO food, which grows on the farm located in Centre County’s beautiful, sprawling Nittany Valley. The creamery offers a large selection of farm fresh ice cream, from salty caramel to banana split to teaberry. Hand-dipped cones, milkshakes and sundaes are available. The freezer is well stocked with pints, quarts and three-gallon containers of ice cream, along with ice cream whoopie pies and custom-made ice cream cakes. The Dairy Barn store also features farm-fresh cheese, yogurt and milk. Not just regular white milk either. Customers can purchase chocolate, strawberry, chocolate-peanut butter, cookies and cream, and mocha. The Dairy Barn features indoor and outdoor seating. Weekend visitors will sometimes find cookouts featuring hot dogs, burgers and pulled pork sandwiches. The Dairy Barn is closed on Sundays. Regular hours are: Monday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Tuesday, noon to 4 p.m.; Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Thursday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
