Happy Valley Improv

Welcome to Happy Valley Improv, State College's premier longform improv company! We are a thriving community of improvisers who are passionate about bringing the art of improv theatre to Happy Valley, Pennsylvania. Our journey began in the basement of a church when three improvisers - Andrea, James, and Sam - came together with the belief that improv could be something special. Joined by Nate soon after, we started practicing weekly and have since grown, performing shows at the State Theatre, leading workshops, and offering improv classes for the community.

In May 2021, we proudly opened the Blue Brick Theatre at 209 W Calder Way in downtown State College. This new venue marks an exciting milestone in expanding the improv community in #HappyValleyPA.

Our mission is to cultivate and support a community of individuals dedicated to the study, practice, and exploration of improvisation. Guided by our five Tenets of Improvisation, we approach improv as a discovery-based art form with no predetermined outcome. We value working together as a collective, listening, accepting, and building off the truths established by the group. We believe in creating a shared reality where everyone can participate without judgment.
