About the Centre County Sports Hall of Fame

The Centre County Sports Hall of Fame was officially established on February 8, 2016 as a non-profit 501c3. The Mission of the CCSHOF is to perpetuate the memory of individuals who have brought lasting fame to Centre County through their achievements in athletics.

Ron Pifer served as the first President, Bucky Quici as Vice-President, Don Burris as Secretary, and Lloyd Rhoades as Treasurer. The inaugural golf outing was held October 15, 2016 at Nittany Country Club. 2017 was the first class to be inducted and inductees would be honored at an annual banquet. The membership included 150+ lifetime members at this time.

In 2017, the CCSHOF partnered with Reliance Bank to provide annual scholarships to 12 High School Senior Athletes that meet exemplary performance in both athletics and academics from the six high schools in our County.

By July 2018, the Board of Directors had grown to 15 members including the Executive Committee and Representatives from each High School in Centre County. Inductees have been honored in 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022. Our current officers are: Keith Bierly, President; Dave Mason, Vice President; Tina Powers, Treasurer and Bonnie Burris, Secretary.

Lifetime members have grown to 300+. Our annual golf outing and banquet continue to be well attended with the common goal of celebrating all Hall of Fame Inductees.
