The area's all day patriotic celebration ending in a beautifully choreographed fireworks show.  Best in Pennsylvania, America's best all volunteer fourth of July.  "You won't believe your eyes and ears"
Origins & Evolution
- The celebration dates back to 1927, when the Alpha Fire Company hosted a carnival and parade in State College.
- In 1978, the Sunrise Kiwanis Club took over, introducing fireworks near Beaver Stadium.
- By 1991, the event grew under the leadership of WZWW Radio and United Federal Bank, with Dan Barker and family pioneering computer-choreographed fireworks synced to music.
- In 2001, the nonprofit Central Pennsylvania July 4th, Inc. was formed to sustain the growing festival with help from hundreds of volunteers.

- Firecracker 4K race through Penn State’s campus
- Parade down College Avenue
- Car show
- Live entertainment
- Massive fireworks show, often rated among the best in the country.
