About the Bellefonte ART Museum for Centre County
The Bellefonte Art Museum for Centre County celebrates the human spirit through the arts and recognizes the importance of art in our lives by exhibiting and selling art by local artists, providing creative enrichment for visitors of all ages, and exhibiting artistic and cultural shows from outside the area. In addition to a professional exhibition schedule, the Bellefonte Art Museum for Centre County is also home to one of the few Underground Railroad installations in our region. “A Journey to Freedom” commemorates the role of our region in the workings of the Underground Railroad. It gives evidence of African American capabilities and achievements as well as celebrates their central role in U.S. history. The museum is FREE and open to the public Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 12:00-4:30 or by appointment. Visit our website for a full exhibition schedule and a list of upcoming events.
