Advent Historical Society

Built in 1849, the historic Advent Church and adjacent Advent Cemetery document the families of farmers and iron workers who settled the Marsh Creek area in the 1800s. Exhibits include a history of the church and everyday life in Boggs township. Following annual Memorial Day observances at the historic Advent Cemetery, the society hosts a musical program in honor of the many veterans from the Civil War to the present. Music at the Advent presents a series of concerts each year that combine music and history in a unique rural setting. The church is available for weddings, funerals, and special events. Tours can be arranged by appointment.
