State College, PA is home to Penn State University and Big Ten facilities used to host intercollegiate athletic programs including track and field, football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, wrestling, tennis, gymnastics, lacrosse, golf, hockey, fields for ultimate frisbee as well as world class fly fishing streams and mountain bike trails.  

Student SectionState College is a top destination for teams not only because of the university facilities, but because they are within a short walking distance to downtown restaurants, shopping, theatres and activities. It is a safe destination and has been ranked one of the best sports towns and adventure towns in the United States. State College is also within short distance to miles and miles of state forest and world class fly fishing streams used as the first U.S. location to host the FIPS-Mouche World Youth Fly Fishing Championship and trails used for one of the largest mountain bike stage races in the United States, the Trans-Sylvania Mountain Bike Epic.

 

Athletic ComplexThe Tussey Mountainback 50 Mile Ultra Marathon and Relay is held annually in State College and is a U.S. Olympic trial qualifying event. 

Top facilities include Beaver Stadium, Bryce Jordan Center for basketball and volleyball, Medlar Field at Lubrano Park baseball complex and the Pegula Ice Hockey Arena.

Penn State's Ashenfelter Multi-use facility has one of the few hydraulically banked tracks in the United States. It hosts annual events such as the PA Indoor high school championship as well as the Penn State National Open track meet which brings in NCAA and professional track and field athletes. The outdoor track and field facility has hosted the Big Ten Conference championship. The Penn State Blue White golf courses host major cross country meets including Penn State National, Big Ten Conference and NCAA DI Regional Championships.

Families are invited to join team members and make it a vacation, staying in one of many hotels at reasonable rates and enjoying local attractions including Penn's Cave, Boalsburg's PA Military Museum, Penn State All-Sports Museum, Vertical Adventures at Stone Valley Recreation Center, Victorian Bellefonte and more! State College is within a 3-4 hour driving distance via major highways to cities of Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C. Baltimore and New York City; University Park Airport is within a 10 minute drive to campus and downtown State College offering flights daily on Delta, American Airlines and United Airlines.
