Where to Watch Penn State-Pitt

Can’t make it to Pittsburgh this weekend for the long-anticipated renewal of the Penn State-Pitt football rivalry?

No worries. State College (and beyond) has plenty of options. Below are just a handful of places from where you and your friends can watch the Nittany Lions and Panthers, who will kick off at noon on ESPN.

Home D Pizzeria in State College

Lots of great options here with food, beer and television — all the essentials. And with a location removed from downtown, a different environment if you’re looking to avoid that scene. From 11:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., order any size pizza, specialty or up to 3 toppings for $10.99. There are 28 hi-definition TVs, including one big screen and TVs on their outdoor patio; 52 taps featuring 36 different beers; and plenty of room for large parties.

Champs in State College

With 30-plus TVs available, you’ll be sure to have a great view of the game. You don’t have to make a reservation to show up, though it’s greatly recommended you do — Champs will take reservations until they reach seating capacity. With a noon kickoff, an early crowd is expected to pack the place. And if you order a Bloody Mary, you’ll be one of many.

LettermanS in State College

The spacious home to James Franklin’s weekly radio show features $3.50 24-ounce Miller Lite drafts, and also will have promotional girls handing out giveaways. There’ll also be Dos Equis bottle and bucket features and food features, in addition to on-site cornhole games. Raffle tickets will be available, with the winner receiving two clubhouse tickets for the game against Iowa on Nov. 5.

Local Whiskey in State College

The game will be on all five large TVs in this upscale piano bar, located on 107 East Beaver Ave. Great food available, and we recommend the fresh-cut fries. A tray should be enough for the entire table. And as a bonus, the bar is equipped to charge your laptop or mobile device.

Robin Hood Brewing Co in Bellefonte

An on-site brewery is always a draw. And if that’s not enough, these details should serve as motivation. From 11:00 a.m. –4:00 p.m, order any size pizza, specialty or up to 3 toppings for $10.99. There are 14 TVs, including two big screen TVs, 26 taps, and plenty of room for large parties.

Rotelli Pizza and Pasta in State College

Downtown along Calder Way, Rotelli features a low-key, but still upbeat vibe. The game will be playing downstairs, which features its own bar. During the game, grab 50-cent wings or $1 slices, or go for the famous buffalo mac and cheese. OK, we don’t know if it’s famous, though it should be. Give it a try and see what we’re talking about.
