What's your favorite memory at the Nittany Lion Shrine?

When you visit Happy Valley this summer, chances are stopping at the Nittany Lion Shrine for a keepsake photograph is on your to-do list.

And rightly so.

The campus landmark is located on a picturesque backdrop on the west side of the University Park campus and has attracted visitors since the 1940s and has been the setting for plenty of memories and stories. This is where you come in!

What’s your most memorable Nittany Lion Shrine story? Did you have to stand in line for an hour (or more) to capture that graduation photo? Wake up early to meet family or friends for that special picture? Include the furry, four-legged member of your family?

We’re looking for those extra details that made the photo memorable, and, with your stories, show how the Nittany Lion Shrine connects generations of Penn Staters who travel back home and visit Penn State.

Email your photos and stories (250 words or less) to Rachel@affinityconnection.com.  Submissions may be edited for length and clarity.

We’re looking forward to hearing from you and sharing your stories!

Submissions will run on HappyValley.com and our social channels. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and our handle for all three platforms is @HappyValleyPSU.
