Penn State wrestling squad ready for home finale

UNIVERSITY PARK – If you haven’t checked out the Penn State wrestling squad yet, time is running out.

The Nittany Lions host their final dual meet of the season at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Rec Hall when the University of Buffalo visits.

The match is sold out. However, you can still get certified re-sale tickets at

Penn State’s biggest question mark of the day will be answered at 197 pounds, where the Lion faithful could see either Shakur Rasheed or Anthony Cassar.

Although nothing is official, here are some projected matchups for the match with the Bulls.

At 125, it will likely be Kyle Akins (Buffalo) vs. Carson Kuhn (Penn State). At 133, look for the Bulls to send out Bryan Lantry to take on Penn State’s Corey Keener.  At 141, it will be Nick Palumbo (Buffalo) facing No. 1 Zain Retherford (Penn State). At 157, look for Buffalo’s Eric Fasnacht (Buffalo) to take on Bo Pipher (Penn State). At 165, it will be Buffalo’s Noah Grover taking on Penn State’s Vincenzo Joseph. The bout at 174 features Christian Dietrich (Buffalo) taking on No. 2 Mark Hall (Penn State). At 184, Brett Perry (Buffalo) will take on No. 1 Bo Nickal.

The Lions, of course, are undefeated across the board this season. They are 13-0 overall, 9-0 in the Big Ten Conference, 7-0 at home and 6-0 on the road. Here’s how the schedule has broken down for the Lions this season:
