Penn State volleyball sees its season end in semis

All good things must come to an end.

That’s how things played out for the Penn State women’s volleyball team on Thursday night in Kansas City, Mo. The Nittany Lions suffered just their second defeat of the season, falling 25-18, 23-25, 24-26, 28-26 and 15-11 in the NCAA Semifinal Match at the Sprint Center in Kansas City.

It was a tough ending for the Nittany Lions who suffered just their second defeat of the season.

The Penn State seniors had big nights, in spite of the loss.

Senior outside hitter Simone Lee finished with her 11thh double-double of the season and the 15th of her career as she tallied 18 kills and added 15 digs. She also picked up two aces and a block in the loss.

Another senior, Haleigh Washington, had 13 kills and six blocks, while fellow middle blocker sophomore Tori Gorrell had six kills, .500 hitting and four blocks.

Senior Alli Frantti had 10 digs, nine kills and two blocks for the Nittany Lions.

Penn State finished the season at 33-2.
