Flashback Friday: Do you remember 'Miami's Nice?'

UNIVERSITY PARK – Penn State’s bowl destination will be announced on Sunday.

The Orange Bowl is in play, so we thought it would be fun to look back to 1985, when No. 1 Penn State was pitted against No. 3 Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl.

The “Miami Nice” posters were a hot seller. The poster paid homage to the popular TV show “Miami Vice.” The poster featured head coach Joe Paterno in the Crockett role, with the Nittany Lion playing the role of Tubbs.

Penn State has appeared in the Orange Bowl five times and holds a record of 4-1. The only loss came in 1986 as Oklahoma upset the Nittany Lions, 25-10.
