Still time to squeeze some fun out of summer

With August winding down, everyone is trying to squeeze a few more magical moments out of summer.

Temperatures are still sweltering, so why not visit a waterpark? There are a couple of excellent water parks extremely close to Happy Valley. Each offers a little something different. Here’s what each has to offer:

WildRiver Waterpark (Raystown) – The park features two, 380-foot twisting slides, the White Water Innertube Ride, the Atomic Blaster and the children’s Splash and Play Pool. There are also five pavilions at the Waterpark.

WildRiver Waterpark is currently closed, but will be open from noon to 6 p.m., Sept. 2 through Sept. 4. Call (814) 658-3500 for more information.

Laguna Splash at DelGrosso Park (Tipton) – Laguna Splash features several different slides, including the Twin Twister, the Gravity Groove, Midnight Express and the Great White, just to name a few. If slides aren’t your thing, there is the River Lazio, which is a good way to beat the heat.

Laguna Splash is closed next week, but will re-open on from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sept. 2 through Sept. 4. If you want to check it out this week, it is open every day. Hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
