As for the festivities, about 300 artists have been accepted for the sidewalk sale and exhibition portion of the festival, which anyone can check out. The following categories will be present for this event: basketry, ceramics, drawing, fiber, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media 2D and 3D, musical instruments, painting, paper, photography, printmaking, sculpture, watercolor and wood. You can browse artists’ creations, shop, or attend the silent auction. A handful of artists will be in attendance for each category!
For the duration of the weekend, there will be performances open to the public every day. Wednesday, July 12th, is all things Centre County and features a plethora of local performers great for families and natives. For example, State College Suzuki Program at the Music Academy performs at 11:00 a.m., Centre Dance performs at 1 p.m., and Dance Academy performs at 4:30 p.m., in addition to the other performers scheduled that day.
Thursday features music across all genres such as jazz, pop, bluegrass, and swing. A few to look out for are the Second Winds, JT & the Denicats, Mama Corn, Joe Baione Trio, Jd Eicher, Philadelphia Phil and Friends and Harpeth Rising.
Friday is sure to be a fun-filled day with 21 performers taking the stages. These include vocal group Arietta Women’s Ensemble, circus artist Dmitry Myers, bluegrass group Stained Grass Window, alt-country group Bovine Social Club and folk group Low Lily, among many others. At night you can also catch the Tussey Mountain Moonshiners and My Hero Zero, two great local groups, and a few more artists.
Saturday will have a variety of different sounds for you, ranging from Black Cat Belly Dance & Friends, Pure Cane Sugar, and Crooked Line to Velveeta and Zeropoint Big Band. Ending the night will be The Ultra Kings, Billy Price Band, and Jackie Brown & the Gill Street Band.
Finally, Sunday caps the weekend off with performances from Andy Tolins & Haystack Lightnin’, The Rampart Street Ramblers, Tyne & the Fastlyne, Bellefonte Community Band, and The Earthtones.
Throughout the weekend you can also enjoy a series of events and activities along with these artists and performances. There will be a Banner Competition, BookFest, Italian Street Painting, Sand Sculpture, Festival Races and a Children’s Sidewalk Sale.
Some of the more "active" activities you can participate in are the Children’s Creative Activities on Wednesday, Zumba with Teresa Soler on Friday, Outdoor Yoga with Mandy Glitzer on Saturday and the races on Sunday. These events are all a great way to get up early, get your body moving, and start every day of the festival off right.
