Penn State hosted Nebraska on Friday night amid a sun-splashed scene at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The Nittany Lions won one out of three against the Cornhuskers, finishing their season 18-37 (4-20 Big Ten). 

Easterly Parkway Elementary student Ryder Rahne (8 years old) fired up the crowd Friday night at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, yelling “Play Ball” before Penn State hosted Nebraska during the Lions' three-game homestand.

Sophomore Justin Hagenman provided a strong performance Friday night, allowing just two runs and seven hits over eight innings.

Penn State quarterback Trace McSorley was one of three football players on-hand Saturday to throw out the first pitch at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Members of the football team signed autographs before the game, and the team’s Big Ten championship trophy was also onsite for fans to take a photo with.

Penn State baseball head coach Rob Cooper finished his fourth season with the Nittany Lions. In his first three seasons, 30 of Cooper’s student-athletes have earned Academic All-Big Ten honors, and the Lions finished 2016 with a winning record for the first time since 2012.
