Celebrating Earth Day in Happy Valley

Happy Valley is ‘going green’ on April 22! Want to get in on the Earth Day fun? Check out all the places hosting Earth Day celebrations!

1. Watershed Cleanup Day with ClearWater Conservancy

Help keep Happy Valley beautiful by participating in the Watershed Cleanup Day and Volunteer Picnic with the ClearWater Conservancy. The cleanup portion of the event will take place from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at your assigned location. There will then be a picnic at Tussey Mountain Pond from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

2. Earth Day Celebration at Discovery Space

The Discovery Space Earth Day Celebration is the perfect event for the whole family. Come out and learn more about clouds, shadows, and our solar system! The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

3. Tree Hugger Trot Earth Day 5K

The Nittany Valley Charter School is hosting the Tree Hugger Trot Earth Day 5K to raise money for environmental education and field trips. The event will take place at the Pennsylvania Military Museum in Boalsburg from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The registration fee is $25.

4. Earth Day Paint Out

Looking for a day of art and fun? Come out to Earth Day Paint Out hosted by the Bellefonte Art Museum for Centre County. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Bellefonte businesses and the museum will host artists while they create art inspired by Mother Earth.

5. Earth Day Celebration at State College Friends School

This free event at the State College Friends School has Earth Day activities for all ages. There’s storytelling, poster-making, group sing-a-longs, and even a trail mix buffet! This event will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a picnic lunch following at 1 p.m.
