Parade Sets Stage for Perfect Homecoming Weekend
Friday's showcase was certainly one for the ages as the crowd lined College Ave in anticipation of the annual homecoming parade.
This year's spectacle lived up to the billing with perfect crisp fall air setting the mood for an exciting evening. Led by a collection of area fire engines, State High's marching band kicked things off. Their energy and enthusiasm was matched by the intensity of Penn State ROTC members hailing from all branches of the armed forces.
Honorary Grand Marshal Raquel Ross was beaming in her white Audi waving to the crowd, and Grand Marshal Joel Myers -- the founder of Accuweather -- seemed just as excited to be the focal point of such a special event.
All in all, fans were happy, and the parade went off without a hitch.
"We always bring out kids to the parade each year" said area resident Jenna Thompson. "It keeps getting better every year. Our kids just love watching the floats go by."
The floats were spectacular, the ambiance festive, and the feeling electrifying. The stage has been set for a perfect Homecoming weekend.
