Where to Be on New Year's Eve
Happy Valley will be chock-full of parties and specials this New Year's Eve. All you need to do is decide where you want to celebrate! Here's a guide to all the best parties and specials for you to ring in 2017.
When: 10 a.m. – Night
The grandest celebration in State College, as always, will be First Night. The good old fashioned, all-day and all-night community festival has live music, food, carriage rides, ice sculptures, crafts, ice-skating, a grand procession, and so much more. Buttons—which grant you general admission to most performances and workshops—are just $10 and can be purchased here or at many local merchants.
New Year's Eve Party
When: 10 p.m. – 2 a.m.
Live music by the Screaming Ducks, party favors, pork and sauerkraut, and a champagne toast at midnight. Regular tickets $15, VIP booths $100 and include 4 tickets, a bottle of champagne, and a $20 Northland Motel voucher.
Northland Bowl has two parties to choose from. One is the perfect option for the whole family, and both are sure to be a blast.
- Rock ‘N Glow Bowling New Year’s Eve Party
When: 10 p.m. – 2 a.m.
For $99.95 you’ll get 4 hours of Rock ‘N Glow bowling, shoes, a large pizza, a pitcher of soda, party favors, and a champagne toast at midnight. A full bar will be available all night.
- Family Cosmic Glow Bowling Party
When: 6 – 9 p.m.
Bowl with the whole family under the black lights… even the party favors glow! For $79.95 you’ll get 3 hours of bowling, shoes, a large pizza, a pitcher of soda, party favors, and prizes for strikes on red head pins.

New Year’s Eve Comedy Special
Dinner served until 9 p.m., live comedy starts at 10 p.m. $20 per person, includes a champagne toast at midnight.
Elk Creek Café will be serving up some very special features for the evening, plus $2 off growler fills all day.
