What Else to Do While You're Here for THON

Will you be visiting Happy Valley for THON? Whether you're coming to cheer on a friend or family member, or just to watch some of the one-of-a-kind event, chances are you'll have some extra time to kill during your visit.

Here are some of the top things to fit in while you're in town this weekend.

Experience Hockey Valley

With the regular season nearing its end, it's the perfect time to catch a game at Pegula Ice Arena, and there happen to be two to choose from this weekend. See the No. 6 Nittany Lions take on Minnesota Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 8 p.m. Click here for ticket info.

Stock up on PSU gear

What better time to show your Penn State pride than Penn State's proudest weekend of the year? Stop into any downtown store like Lions Pride, Family Clothesline, Student Book Store, or McLanahan's for every kind of PSU gear imaginable.

Explore campus

If it's your first time seeing Penn State, or just your first time in a while, take a stroll through campus. Get a signature photo at the Lion Shrine. See what's changed since the last time you've been there, like the recent major upgrades to the HUB. If you want to see even more, visit the Palmer Museum of Art or the All-Sports Museum.

Grab a cone at the Creamery

Don't let anyone tell you that just because it's cold outside, you can't eat ice cream. No Penn State trip is complete without a stop at Berkey Creamery. Plus, the Creamery makes a killer cup of hot coffee to go with your ice cream. (And don't leave without grabbing some grilled stickies to take home with you!)

Grab a bite at the best local joints

Planning your meals is key to any perfect trip. Luckily, there's a world of food at your fingertips here in Happy Valley. Check out our Eat features and featured restaurants for a few ideas.
