Spikes announce dates for 12 Fireworks Nights
UNIVERSITY PARK – Fireworks and baseball go together, don’t you think?
After home runs, fireworks are the perfect celebration. And on a hot summer night, there’s nothing better than a postgame fireworks show. Locally, no one does it better than the State College Spikes.
The Spikes recently announced that during the 2018 campaign, there will be 12 fireworks shows at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.
The first of the dozen fireworks shows will take place on Opening Night, which takes place on Saturday, June 16 against the Williamsport Crosscutters.
After that, the Spikes will host 11 more fireworks nights.
The tradition of Sunday fireworks continues with shows on June 24, July 15 and July 22.
Saturdays are also a big day for fireworks with shows on July 21, Aug. 4 and Aug. 25.
Fans can get warmed up for the Central PA Fourth Fest with a fireworks show on Tuesday, July 3. There are also shows on Friday, June 29 and Friday, Aug. 10.
There will also be a fireworks show on Tuesday, Aug. 14, when Medlar Field at Lubrano Park plays host to the New York Penn League All-Star Game.
The final fireworks show of the year will take place on the last night of regular season baseball, Friday, Aug. 31.
Spikes’ single-game tickets – including all of the fireworks night games – will go on sale at 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 10. Tickets can be purchased online at www.statecollegespikes.com by phone at (814) 272-1711 or in person at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.
