One of the staples in Happy Valley is the widespread love and support of small businesses, and recently, even more new businesses have been popping up. Here is our guide to some of your new favorite places around town.
Ikonic Industries is a tattoo and piercing studio located at 111 W Beaver Ave, State College. Ikonic is all about providing a safe and sterile environment for anyone to get the perfect piercing or tattoo. With five studios located up and down the east coast, Ikonic offers an extensive jewelry selection and the ability to tattoo almost any design a customer requests. MindBodyArt School of Dance
MindBodyArt School of Dance, located at 650 Gray's Woods Blvd, Port Matilda, has several classes available for different age groups to express themselves through the art of dance. They offer ballet, lyrical, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, modern and pom jazz camps for ages 3-19, beginners to advanced. MindBodyArt also offers opportunities for kids beyond dance classes, including tumbling camps, musical theatre camps and sports and fitness camps. Looking to get your juice on? Check out Salúd Juicery, the newest juice and wellness bar located at 109 South Fraser Street, State College. Salúd—‘good health’ in Spanish—offers a variety of juices with creative names, such as the Jane Good’All, which is made with oranges, strawberries, peaches, bananas and coconut water. They use innovative, healthy ingredients such as beets, spinach, kale and agave in most of their beverages. Salúd also offers a variety of juice cleanse experiences to help healthily and naturally release negative toxins. In addition to the wide array of juices, Salúd also has smoothies, granola and fruit bowls and shots such as the Jamaican Sunrise featuring acai, lemon and wheatgrass. Startup Grind, a global entrepreneurship community, has a new location in State College located on 60 Decibel Rd. This business helps entrepreneurs find mentors, connect with resources and pursue funding. Startup Grind hosts monthly events featuring founders, innovators, educators and investors who share lessons learned in starting a business with the entrepreneurship community. The Tailgate Guys
The fall 2018 Penn State football season is in sight, which means it’s almost time to start planning some tailgate parties, and good news: The Tailgate Guys are here to help. The business just welcomed Penn State as a new campus partner in 2017 and will offer their services on Little Jeffrey Field come football season. They provide a variety of tailgate packages and catering options to make setting up your tailgate party hassle-free. Their packages include tents, chairs, tables, coolers, personalized signs and much more dependent on the package option. The Tailgate Guys are partnered with My My Chicken and Paul’s Provisions catering company to provide food and beverages to your Penn State tailgate.
