Plenty of options for brunch in Happy Valley
STATE COLLEGE – What are weekends for if you don't indulge in brunch? Happy Valley certainly does not slack when it comes to restaurants offering Saturday and Sunday brunch. From unlimited buffets to bloody mary bars, here are our favorite brunch spots:
American Ale House: The motto is “Delicious food that won’t hurt your wallet.” Head over to the Ale House on any Sunday and enjoy the wild blueberry pancakes or the smoked salmon Benedict. If you get thirsty during brunch, there is always the build your own bloody mary bar for just $5.50!
Barrel 21 Distillery: Voted best brunch in State College! Devour unlimited brunch dishes from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. any Sunday for just $18 a person. Buffet features range from sweet pastries to savory, hot dishes… and you can’t forget about the Bloody Mary bar!
Federal Taphouse: If you’ve never had pizza for breakfast, then you must head to Federal Taphouse to enjoy their signature breakfast pizza. The rest of the brunch menu does not disappoint! The Taphouse has plenty of tables to dine at, as well as plenty of beers on tap!
The Tavern: The Tavern has the inviting ambience of an 18th century inn, filled with photos of Pennsylvania history and Penn State tradition. Spend your Sunday at The Tavern, enjoying the fabulous unlimited brunch buffet.
Corner Room: They might not call it brunch, but food is food. Check out the Corner Room on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for an all you can eat breakfast buffet (just $9.99).
Gigi’s: The best Southern food in State College! Don’t miss out on Gigi’s unique Saturday brunch, filled with endless classic dishes. Some of our favorites are the Cajun eggs Benedict and the fried po' boy. The brunch cocktail menu is out of this world!
The Deli: The Deli has brunch every Saturday and Sunday! Their specialties include stuffed brioche french toast, as well as corned beef hash. Spice up your morning with a “Stingray Bloody Mary.”
Nittany Lion Inn: Attention: The Nittany Lion Inn is more than just a hotel! The Dining Room is open every Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. offering a Sunday brunch buffet. Brunch includes a carving station, omelet station, fresh smoked salmon and much more. How could you say no to that?
Penn Stater: For just under $20, you can enjoy a wonderful spread of brunch/lunch items at the Penn Stater Hotel. Brunch features a Belgian waffle station, made to order omelets, salad bar, fruit display, and more. The Penn Stater is most proud of the seafood bar with peel and eat shrimp, whole poached salmon, smoked salmon and caviar. If you’re 21 or older, enjoy a mimosa on the house!
