The event is a favorite of Penn Staters looking to finally escape the cold of winter and enjoy their Nittany Lions for the conclusion of spring practice. Attendance for the game often ranges between 60,000-80,000. It is important to check on the weather forecast before leaving your home to pack accordingly.

Pre-Game Festivities:

The weekend follows PS i ♡ U week (April 18–22) hosted by the Blue & White Society to celebrate all that is Penn State and unite students, alumni, faculty, staff and fans in their shared love for the University.

Sports Illustrated has a great article on the 2022 Penn State Nittany Lion Blue/White scrimmage game on April 23, 2022. Click Here

Make sure to check the schedule for the Penn State All-Sports Museum.

Stadium gates will open up 90 minutes prior to kickoff to allow fans to get in, purchase food and find a general admission seat.

Tailgating:

There are few places as fun and unique experience to enjoy a cold drink and burger than outside of Beaver Stadium. The tailgating grounds form a ring around the stadium.

The Blue-White Game:

The annual spring game is the last of the organized practices for the football program during the spring semester and the first opportunity for Nittany Lion fans to see how the team is coming along. With admission to the stadium being complimentary, Blue-White weekend is an excellent opportunity to introduce your family to the brand and atmosphere of Penn State Football.

We advise visitors to get inside the stadium 45 minutes to an hour before kick-off to provide adequate time for getting through security, finding a seat (as this is a general admission event) and purchasing food. Gates will open 90 minutes before kickoff.

After the Game:

Get your Penn State gear at one of several area stores including the Family ClotheslineLions PrideStudent Book Store or others.

Following the game head out for some delicious dinner or fun nightlife options. Our Central PA Tasting Trail provides a bit of both in just one stop.

Make sure that you save some energy because Sunday is the annual Paterno Family Beaver Stadium Run benefitting the Special Olympics Pennsylvania chapter. Participants will be able to finish their walk or run at the 50 yard line of Beaver Stadium.
