Defying Gravity at Get Air
By Laura Zaks
“Birthdays come alive when kids fly.”
When Peter Pan and Tinker Bell’s pixie dust are out of the picture, it’s time to get creative on how to lift off into the air — and trampolines from wall to wall just might be the answer.
Get Air Sports, the ultimate trampoline park, moved in to 2252 E. College Ave on Oct. 16, 2018. Throughout the year, parents have been taking advantage of the birthday party paloozas that are now all possible thanks to the facility’s many activities.
Whether it be kiddie stations of mini trampolines, basketball and dodgeball stations or ninja obstacle courses that provide monkey bars, balance beams, nets and aerial silks galore, there is no room for boredom here at Get Air.
Steve Barako, the general manager, is incredibly thankful for the welcoming family of Happy Valley, knowing it is their patronage that keeps the business afloat.
“We have hosted many groups including athletic teams and church outings and have been the chosen location of hundreds of birthday parties,” Barako said. “We have also been able to partner with multiple local charities to raise funds for some incredible causes.”
Specifically, Get Air worked with the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism this past April through fundraising efforts involving online donations and in-store purchases of special-edition jump socks.
At the end of the day, Get Air has their customers as first priority, and wants to be a place of love, fun and joy for people in all walks of life.
“Get Air is one of the few attractions in central Pennsylvania that caters to guests of all ages,” Barako explained. “We have opportunities for everyone including children, teenagers, adults and families.”
The trampoline and birthday party haven has promotions and specials all throughout the year to thank their customers and guests for their espousal and support.
Deals are as follows: Mondays, 4 p.m.–10 p.m. is 20% off jump time, Tuesdays are buy one hour of jump time and get the second free, Wednesdays are 20% with a student ID and Thursdays, all tickets are 20% off!
To push the limits of fun even farther, Friday and Saturday nights are known for Club Air, where from 9 p.m. to midnight, disco and DJs are pumping up the beat under the lights.
In this way, Get Air caters to all, for all and for any day — rain or sun, if it’s date night or family night, or if it’s a birthday or just a Saturday, the facility hopes to be the home of making memories to last a lifetime.
More than anything, Barako loves the look on kids’ faces when they walk through the doors.
“They often stand there stunned for a bit, taking it all in,” he said, smiling.
But it’s not just the children who split into ear-to-ear grins. As Barako said, Get Air is for all ages.
Andrew Fedorocsko, a junior at Penn State University, couldn’t get enough of the boundless opportunity for fun his first visit.
“I just stood there, shocked, because it’s like every dream come true — trampolines everywhere and so much room to just let go and be a kid,” Fedorocsko said, laughing. “It’s truly a special place where you can bounce around and have a genuinely good time just defying gravity.”
