March Madness comes to Happy Valley as Lady Lions enter WNIT

UNIVERSITY PARK – The Penn State spring sports season is winding down, but there’s still a chance to catch the men’s and women’s basketball teams at the Bryce Jordan Center.

First up is the Penn State men. The Nittany Lions will face Temple at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14 at the BJC.

Now, the Lady Lions have joined the field – the WNIT, that is. It was announced that the Lady Lions will face Radford at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 15 also at the BJC. The game will not be televised, so getting out to the BJC will be the only way to watch (the game will air on the Penn State Sports Network).

It is the fourth appearance in the WNIT for the Lady Lions. The 64-team tournament is a single-elimination tourney. The games begin on Wednesday, March 14 and will wrap up on Saturday, March 31 with the WNIT Championship Game.

It is possible that the Lady Lions could host a second round game. The host site for each game is selected following each round by the WNIT committee and is based on several factors. Further information will be available as Penn State advances through the tournament.
