Weekend events: Hockey hopes to 'Pack the Peg'

UNIVERSITY PARK – It’s another big weekend in Happy Valley.

As we flip the calendar to March – yes March! – Penn State heads on its spring break. But don’t fret. If you’re hanging around Happy Valley, there is still plenty to do.

Let’s take a look at some of the weekend highlights:

Happy Valley Improv – Happy Valley Improv is State College’s premier improv group. This is fully unscripted improv at its finest. It takes place at 8 p.m. in the Attic of the State Theatre. Happy Valley Improv is held on the first Thursday of each and every month, so be sure to check it out. Visit www.thestatetheatre.org for more information.

Penn State men’s hockey vs. Minnesota – The Penn State men’s hockey team is in action as the Big Ten Tournament begins! The Nittany Lions are a No. 4 seed while the Golden Gophers are No. 5. The Lions will host the best-of-three series this weekend at the Pegula Ice Arena. Face off is set for 7 p.m. at The Peg. For tickets, visit www.ticketmaster.com.

Penn State men’s hockey vs. Minnesota – Game 2 of the best-of-three series will face off at 7 p.m. at Pegula Ice Arena. If the Nittany Lions win on Friday night, they can put a bow on this series on Saturday night. Want tickets? Visit www.ticketmaster.com.

Penn State men’s hockey vs. Minnesota – If necessary, there will be a Game 3 in the best-of-three series between the Nittany Lions and Golden Gophers. If there is a Game 3, the Peg will be packed for the elimination game. Tickets available for the possible game at www.ticketmaster.com.

Acting 2: Exercises and Choices – Presented by the Next Stage Theatre Production Company, Acting 2 will explore some longer acting exercises (for example: the telephone exercise, mask work and two-minute observation) and examine actor’s choices in the longer exercises. Cost is $10-$20 and benefits the Next Stage Theatre Production Company.
