Plenty of fall festivals on the horizon

If you are looking for something to do this fall, there’s no need to look any further than Happy Valley and the surrounding area.

Watermark Church Fall Fest

10:30 a.m.

Free event at Talleyrand Park. Church service followed by lunch, music, face painting, and kids activities.

Harvestfest DelGrosso’s Amusement Park, Tipton

Food Truck Rally in the Valley

200 Block of South Allen St.

12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Local food trucks will be lined up to feed attendees. Food, fun and activities for the whole family. Pure Cane Sugar will perform from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

OktoberFest

Farmer’s Wife Fall Festival

15th annual Apple Harvest Festival and Car/Truck Show

34th annual Ghosts and Goblins Tours

Lincoln Caverns, Huntingdon

42nd annual Dutch Fall Festival

Way Fruit Farm’s Fall Festival

The Arboretum at Penn State’s Pumpkin Festival

Saturday, Oct. 14

Tenth annual Cranberry Festival

Black Moshannon State Park, Philipsburg

Noon to 4 p.m.

Activities at this festival include hiking to pick cranberries on the bog, making pinecone birdfeeders, colonial candle-dipping and a hayride. There will also be some crafters at the event, which takes place near the Environmental Learning Center. Cost is $1 to participate.

17th annual Downtown State College Fall Festival

Allen Street

Activities for the whole family, including pumpkin decorating, amusement rides and a dessert contest.

Seventh annual Fall Festival and Pumpkin Chunkin’ Festival
