Best Spots to View July 4 Fireworks

Central PA holds an infamous fireworks show every July 4, for which you're going to want the best possible seats. This fireworks show was named one of the best annual shows in Pennsylvania and the third largest in the nation, so don't miss out on this iconic Happy Valley tradition. Here are a few options for prime firework viewing spots:

BJC: The Bryce Jordan Center and all around Beaver Stadium, as well as down Porter Road, is a very popular destination for gathering to watch the fireworks show. This area even comes with VIP Viewing Tickets, which you can purchase ahead of time to get the best possible vantage point.

Dalevue Park: The Lemont park offers a less-populated viewing spot if you’re looking for a grassy area that's not too crowded to lay out and watch the sparks fly.

PSU IM Fields: Grab a blanket and spread out on the IM Fields to watch the show; make sure to pick a spot the stadium doesn’t interfere with.

Medlar Field: Medlar Field will also be open for viewing and what better way to enjoy this celebration of America than by watching fireworks on a baseball field? The best spot to do so is from home plate to right field.

Whitehill and Warwick Streets is a residential area that's elevated and perfect for a densely populated and casual viewing of the works; it also feels like you’re right on top of the action.

Meyer Dairy Store: This ice cream shop is open until 11 p.m., making grabbing ice cream before and after the fireworks possible (because who doesn’t love ice cream on 4th of July?). Many people congregate here to watch the fireworks and enjoy a summery treat while doing so.
